Acupuncture is the practice of inserting needles into the body to reduce pain or induce anaesthesia. More broadly, acupuncture is a family of procedures involving the stimulation of anatomical locations on or in the skin by a variety of techniques.
It’s a technique that has been used for more than 5000 years in the East. Traditional Chinese Medicine describes that the body gets injured or illness through the blockage or stagnation of “Qi” energy. Acupuncture helps to unblock this energy allowing the body to heal itself.
Some experts have used neuroscience to explain acupuncture. Acupuncture points are seen as places where nerves, muscles, and connective tissue can be stimulated. The stimulation increases blood flow, while at the same time triggering the activity of the body's natural painkillers. Great for anxiety, depression, stress or any type of musculoskeletal injuries.
