Instrumented Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation (IASTM)

Instrumented Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation (IASTM)

Most commonly known as scrapping or Graston technique, it’s often used in sports for the treatment of myofascial restrictions. IASTM uses specially designed instruments to provide a mobilizing effect to scar tissue and myofascial adhesions, helping the person gaining a wider range of movement free of restriction.

They help to mobilise the facias and help to achieve the freedom of movement that will help achieve a better sporting performance. The area treated will often get red and even show signs of bruising. This should not be mistaken as something bad, as this could indicate tension or adhesions release and the body will clear out the toxins replacing with a better quality tissue in the repair.
